Setting Up Your React Native Env

react-native-debugger

So I have had the pleasure of working on two react native projects at once and have noticed that there are a couple of steps to getting your env set up so I thought I would use this post as a reference.

First you will need to start by installing create react native app template: https://github.com/react-community/create-react-native-app
Next I prefer to use the react native debugger because it includes all of the DOM inspection stuff, console output and redux debugger all in one: https://github.com/jhen0409/react-native-debugger
In order to get this to work you will have to override the default debugger by installing this package: https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-native-debugger-open which involves installing the react-native-debugger-open package and adding a postinstall script to package.json. You will need stop expo run that script (make sure the default debugger is closed and that remote debugging is enabled) then restart expo.
